Food Budget Tips
They said that budget on food should not be sacrificed. These days, as much as we wanted to add more to our food, the global recession that we’re experiencing right now is limiting us to do so.
Sacrificing the food budget should not always be a burden to our health and stomach. Instead of sacrificing the quality of the dishes that we put on the table for our family, we should try other practical ways to do it. While we can always cut our food cost, we should still not cut the nutrients that we want to be included in our meal.
Here are some of the many proven tips that may help you in budgeting without sacrificing the nutrients and tastes of the dishes that you’re preparing.
1. Buy seasonal ingredients. Seasonal vegetables and fruits are much lower in prices.
2. Try other recipes. Using the seasonal ingredients, you can do some experimenting with your cooking.
3. Buy cheaper meat cuts. Sometimes, we have to sacrifice our craving for rib eye or tenderloin part of the meat. You can still do some occasional buys if you have spare budget.
4. Don’t throw leftovers. Reinvent your leftovers from the fridge according to your preference.
5. Don’t overbuy. Again, bring a list of things that you need to buy from the supermarket, set the budget and prioritize them.
